Dead Zone Formation: The conical shape can lead to material accumulation at the bottom, creating dead zones that are difficult to dry and discharge completely, thus affecting drying efficiency.

Cleaning Challenges: Cleaning is relatively more challenging, especially for larger conical screw vacuum dryers , as the bottom and side walls are harder to access, particularly the back of the ribbon.

Appearance

Horizontal Design: The hollow screw vacuum dryer features a horizontal layout, typically placed level to the ground.

Advantages

Structure: Utilizes spiral blades to move materials along the heating surface, with rakes to enhance mixing efficiency.

Advantages

Enhanced Heating: In addition to the inner wall, the hollow design of the main shaft and spiral blades allows for the introduction of heat transfer media (such as hot water, heat transfer oil, or steam). This greatly increases the contact area between the material and the heating surface, significantly improving drying efficiency—an advantage not found in other dryers on the market.

4. Drying Efficiency

The effective heat transfer area of the single cone design is 1.5 times that of the internal surface area, leading to high drying efficiency. However, its operation is limited to batch processing.
