In the powder mixing process, you may faced many challenges such as poor powder fluidity, significant particle size differences, and difficulty in uniform distribution of trace elements. If these problems are not effectively solved, they will directly affect the quality and stability of the product.

What are the common problems with powder mixing?

1. The problem that powders with poor fluidity are not easy to mix evenly

It is a common mixing process problem that the powder is not easy to mix evenly because of the poor fluidity of the powder (the powder that can form a collapse angle).

2. The problem that powders with too good fluidity are not easy to mix evenly

When the fluidity of the powder is too good, means the powder particles are round and the surface is smooth, and the secondary differences are prone to segregation when mixing (for example, the round particles move fast and the geometric particles move slowly), which brings difficulties to uniform mixing.

3. The problem that light and heavy powders are not easy to mix evenly

Mixing light powder and heavy powder together is a typical mixing process problem. During mixing, the light powder floats up and the heavy powder sinks, which makes it difficult to mix evenly.

4. The problem that light powder and ultra-light powder are not easy to mix evenly

If the materials to be mixed are all light powder or ultralight powder, due to the light specific gravity of the ultralight powder and the small gravity, it will often float in the air above the material, making the mixing unable to proceed smoothly.

5. The problem that micro-powders, nano-powders, and ultrafine powders are not easy to mix evenly

If the material contains micro-powders, nano-powders, and ultrafine powders, it will also cause problems for uniform mixing. The reason is that the particles of the material are too small, and the weight will inevitably decrease. The ultrafine powder that loses the restraint of gravity can easily float upward during the powder mixing movement, which brings difficulties to uniform mixing.

6. The problem that powders with added trace elements are not easy to mix evenly

When the material to be mixed contains trace elements with an added amount of less than one percent or even one thousandth, it becomes very difficult to make the trace elements evenly dispersed and mixed. If trace elements gather in the dead corners of the material, it will cause the mixing to fail.

7. The problem of viscous clumps in the powder that are not easy to mix evenly.

Because of the viscosity, moisture, electrostatic adsorption and other reasons of the powder, the powder clumps, it is difficult to break up the particle structure in conventional mixing equipment and mixing processes, resulting in mixing problems.
